Please read these notes before completing the application form.
The council will grant discounts on Council Tax providing the following circumstances relate to the property.
- The property is unoccupied and substantially unfurnished.
The maximum period for a 100% discount is one month from the date the property becomes unoccupied and substantially unfurnished. After this period, Council Tax will be charged at 75% of the full charge for a further five months. At the end of this period, full Council Tax becomes payable for a further eighteen months.
If the property remains unoccupied and substantially unfurnished for more than twenty-four months, a charge of 150% of the Council Tax liability will be payable.
